Happy April everyone! It’s my fourth month blogging and I’ve learned a lot so far. One of the most useful things I’ve discovered is reading other bloggers income reports. It has really helped me learn where and how to monetize my blog. I’d like to share my very, very, very slow monetization journey with any new bloggers out there, hope it helps!

Blog Income Report – March 2016

Sources:

ShareASale – $8.99 – If you don’t know what ShareASale is you can read my post about it here.

IZEA $1.00 – I earned $1 through a sponsored tweet. This month, I’m already doing better than that with IZEA. I recommend it for any new bloggers out there.

Google Adsense – $3.31 – I don’t understand how people make a ton of money with Adsense, I just can’t seem to make more than $.50 cents at most.

March 2016 INCOME TOTAL – $13.30

$13.30 is nothing compared to all the other bloggers out there who earn thousands, however, it’s $13.30 more than I had before so I’ll count it as a win 🙂

Goals for April 2016

My analytics stats for March 2016

  • I’d like to get more page views. In March, I had 3,500 which is a lot more than the 1,850 I had in February. I’d like to try and get 4,000 this month.
  • Right now, I have seven email subscribers. I’d like to reach double digits this month, hopefully!
  • I’d also like to refer more people to Dealspotr – I think it’s a pretty awesome and easy way to get Amazon gift cards that not enough people know about! Plus, if you use my link you get 5,000 points to start off with!
  • I would love to discover more ways to earn money through my blog. If anyone has any sites that they use or affiliates, let me know in the comments!

If you’re a fellow blogger trying to monetize your blog, how did you do in March? Have any tips or tricks for me? Let me know in the comments.

    1. It really is a lot harder than I thought it would be – all the articles about it make it seem like it’s so simple too! Congrats on getting one paid post!

  1. I love that you are celebrating your wins, and sharing your blog income openly. I monetize our blog in a completely different way. I am a content creator and promoter and also as part of a few affiliate programs. I wish you an even better April. Go get em!

  2. Congrats! Hey, don’t be comparing yourself to other bloggers!! It’s an awesome income for someone who is making money off doing what they love! So cool!!

    1. Thank you Chelsea! I hope it can be more of an income eventually, but something is better than nothing!

    1. I’m not sure if I signed up for LinkShare – if you have a referral link, feel free to post it here! Also, I’m signed up for Amazon affiliates as well, but I haven’t earned anything from it yet – I’m having a lot of trouble with that one!

  3. Congratulations on continuing to grow in March. I’m sure April has some great things in store for you and your blog. One thing I’ve learned about blogging is that it’s a marathon and not a sprint in terms of monetizing and increasing your following, and I think you’re off to a fabulous start. March wasn’t as successful for me as February in terms of monetizing, but I hope April will be awesome.

    1. I love your blog! And yes, I totally agree it takes a lot of time and it’s important to focus on quality over quantity – Good luck in April, I’m sure you’ll do awesome!

  4. Nice job! Adsense is the only blog income I have, and I don’t really consider it income until I’ve earned enough to get a check. I hope you reach your goals!

    1. Yeah, I was debating if I should even count it because who knows when I’ll be able to get to $100 – it’s taking forever just to get to $20!

  5. You’re doing awesome! It’s so helpful to read what others use for income on their blogs and what they’ve had success with! I’m excited to watch your blog continue to grow!

    1. Always nice to see a fellow Sarah with an h! I would definitely look into them, they’re what I’ve found the most useful so far!

  6. You are off to a great start! Have you considered joining any networks? I am a member of Social Fabric and they have a ton of sponsored post opportunities.

    1. Thanks, I hope that this helps other people who aren’t making hundreds of dollars realize that they aren’t the only ones!

  7. congrats, better than nothing for sure. Unfortunately for me, the low payout was the reason I stopped ( and having two little ones). I

    1. Definitely better than nothing, but I cant imagine having two kids and blogging, it takes so much time and the low payout would be super discouraging.

  8. Yes, you have to start some where. Making money doing what you love. Congrats on ending in a positive. Good luck on working on this months goals! It will happen!! Totally need to read up on what you wrote about Shareasale
